On the days when your supply of cards and labels is running low, or you need to tag a party favor at the last minute, you’ll be grateful for these quick-and-easy gift tags. Because they require so little setup, these tags are easy to make one at a time as needed—or, make dozens the next time you have 30 minutes to yourself, so you have a stash on hand that can be personalized with the name or message of your choice each time there’s a gift to be given!
Quick-and-Easy Gift Tags
SUPPLIES:
White blank gift tags, 13∕8″ × 21∕8″
Washi tape
Craft knife and self-healing cutting mat
Pen
Baker’s twine
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Remove the white strings that come with the gift tags.
2. Press strips of washi tape onto the cutting mat, and cut them lengthwise into halves (to make narrower strips). Carefully peel them up in order to apply them to the gift tags.
3. Wrap the thin washi tape strips at alternating angles around each tag, leaving a I” to 1″ space clear to write a greeting.
4. Write the gift recipient’s name or a greeting (Happy Birthday!, Congratulations! I think you’re swell!) in the space between the strips.
5. Thread the baker’s twine through the top hole in each tag and tie the ends in a knot.
