Make Today “Friendship Friday”!

It’s Friday (TGIF!), and if you’re like me the rest of the working world, you’re probably gearing up for a much-needed break this weekend. So why not take one right now (you deserve it!) and coo over some sweet stories—the Unlikely Friendships features, slideshows, and videos that have been popping up in various major media outlets!

First, there was the Parade magazine slideshow, featuring some of the photos seen below. Oprah has also featured the book on her website and on the Life Lift blog. She says, “Captured in their moments of zoological intimacy, each animal duo provides a new kind of insight as to why love sometimes works… in unlikely situations.” And then there’s National Geographic, which will air the special “Unlikely Animal Friends” again in honor of the book.

So much love, so many animals! I like to think of it as inspiration for humankind—a lesson we can earnestly take to heart. As author Jennifer S. Holland says: “Creatures that we think should be enemies but get along can teach us something about how we treat animals—and each other.”
