Three Cheers for Thanksgiving!


Of the number of cocktails called Victory, we’re laying odds that this is the least well known. As with many other vermouth drinks, it’s a light, herbal affair—although here, both vermouths are used and the herbs are tempered by citrus and sweetness. Should you have a guest who would like to participate in the evening’s festivities but not the hard alcohol, the Victory offers a light, pleasing alternative.

The Victory

Serves: 1 Drink

Ingredients

  • INGREDIENTS:
  • ¾ ounce dry vermouth
  • ¾ ounce sweet vermouth
  • 1 teaspoon strained, freshly
  • squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon strained, freshly
  • squeezed orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon Grenadine, homemade or store-bought

Instructions

1. Combine all of the ingredients in a mixing glass, fill the glass three-quarters full with ice cubes, cover with a Boston shaker tin, and shake vigorously until thoroughly chilled, 15 seconds.

2. Strain into a martini glass.
