A Short-Form Love Story: 4

To celebrate Valentine’s Day, and inspired by the book The List: A Love Story in 781 Chapters by Aneva Stout, we invited several members of the Workman staff to each write a short-form love story in just 5 to 7 numbered “chapters.” Our fourth love story is adapted by an anonymous senior member of the 9th floor staff who goes mysteriously by Romeo. Enjoy!

A Tragic Love Story by Romeo

1. You’ll crash a party hoping to hook up with a girl who’s been
   ignoring you.
2. You’ll fall for the host’s daughter instead.
   1. But your families hate each other
3. You’ll refuse to fight her infuriated cousin.
   1. But you’ll end up killing him, totally by accident
4. You’ll be totally f***d, to put it mildly.
   1. But you’ll secretly marry the host’s daughter
5. You’ll live happily ever after.
   1. Well, you won’t–at all–but, hey, it’s Valentine’s Day!
